Die Siegesserie der 2.BL hält an. Mit 13:5 und 7:4 gewinnen die A’s beide Spiele gegen Regensburg. Coach Kelly lobt sein Team, dass zusammen eine solide Leistung über die ganze Saison gespielt hat. Besonders hebt er hervor, dass seine Jungs gelernt haben zu kämpfen bis das Spiel wirklich zu Ende ist und er viele erstklassige Führungsspieler im Kader hat. Gewinnt Kelly die letzten Spiele in Heidenheim, ist die 2.BL punktgleich an der Tabellenspitze mit Tübingen.

Dennis Kelly zu Spiel 1 gegen Regensburg:

Hard fought battle between a solid young pitcher, Sven Schüller and Max Doll. Regensburg jumped out to a 5-0 lead. Mainz opened up the game about halfway thin on Lennard Stöcklin’s go ahead RBI singel. After loading the bases, Kuczulaba extended the lead with a 3-RBI double deep to the right center gap. The Athletics continued with strong offense and Tim Stahlmann closed the game in dominant fashion.

Dennis Kelly zu Spiel 2 gegen Regensburg:

Regensburg jumped out to a 2-0 lead early on with Daniel Klein pounding strikes, but getting unlucky baseball hops. The Mainz bats came alive again with a 5 run inning, sparked by a huge Andreas Lastinger bomb. Kuczulaba struck again with a triple, smoked to the gap to drive in two more runs. Max Stahlmann drove a snor deep to left to drive in Kuczulaba, and then scored on a perfect executed „safety squeeze“ by Nicolas Windelband in his final game with the 2nd Team.
